For many years, I was really into to mountain biking and for the past couple of years have put more focus on riding BMX bikes. That isn’t a bad thing, it’s just that after a recent mountain bike ride, I realized how much fun it was and how much I missed it.
I rotate between many forms of exercise but Mountain Biking somehow got lost in the mix and I am elated to have it back on my current list of activities. Riding on trails with good friends, turning, jumping, cranking, coasting and shredding through the woods is a true blast, not to mention a privilege. With so many obstacles to avoid and various types of terrain to cover, 2-3 hours go by and it seems like it was only 30 minutes! That is the benefit of this activity because it provides both endurance and skill training at the same time. That combination gets rid of a factor that makes many people quit when it comes to endurance training…..boredom!
If you have done it before or you are looking for a new activity to try, get out there and give mountain biking a go, there are countless trails for all abilities throughout Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky that are all close by and waiting for you to enjoy!
So whether it is mountain biking, swimming, running, lifting, cycling or whatever you did in your past…look back then take a step forward by re-introducing yourself to activities that you were passionate about. More often than not, you will find that same passion now as you did then. Get involved!
