The Crap List Vol I.

This is a new feature called the “Crap List” where we list different foods, products, programs and anything else in fitness that is “Crap” and not worth your time or hard-earned money.

This week: The Full Bar or as it should be called…the “Full of Crap Bar.”

The science and know-how behind making protein or energy bars just hasn’t produced many high quality brands and the Full Bar is definitely not worth the money. It touts being high in protein but the protein it does have consists of Soy Protein which despite what many people believe, is a low quality protein when it comes to the type of protein needed for truly supporting and building lean muscle mass.

The "Full of Crap Bar" contains 10g of sugar and low-quality protein. This product is a No-Go!

The “Full of Crap Bar” also contains 10 grams of sugar, which is way too much for such a small bar. You should look for bars that contain Whey and/or Milk Protein Isolate as its first ingredient and ones that contain no more than 3 grams of sugar. They are out there, you just have to look for them and read labels! A  good bar to try instead of the Full of Crap Bar and one of the first bars on the market ever, is the Parrillo High Protein Bar. It is second to none in quality. http://www.parrillo.com/productdetail.asp?id=116

Regardless of how awesome a bar is or isn’t, it comes down to training consistently, training hard, eating balanced meals and disciplining yourself…end of story. However, if you are going to choose bars, choose ones by people who actually know what they are doing! Tune in next week to see who or what else makes the Crap List.
